Application behavior

This site is a static Astro export. The application uses no cookies, no analytics, no tracking, no third-party requests, no user accounts and no forms. The atlas uses self-hosted JavaScript and geographic model files for its interactive 3D view. Project dossiers and the static project index work without JavaScript. It contains no code that reads or writes local storage, session storage, IndexedDB or service-worker storage. A visitor who follows an original-source link initiates a navigation to that source; the source is not embedded by this site.

Hosting and request data

This site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, United States. When a visitor requests a page, Vercel states that it receives website traffic information including the IP address, location derived from the IP address and system configuration information. Its service-generated information can also include log files, proxy-server, diagnostic, capacity, usage, performance, data-setting and system-configuration information.

The controller processes the request data necessary to deliver, operate and secure this site on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interests are reliable delivery, abuse prevention, troubleshooting and security. Vercel also describes some service-generated data processing under its own responsibility in itsPrivacy Notice.

Recipient, processor status and transfers

Vercel Inc. is the hosting recipient. Vercel's Terms of Service say that personal information is processed as controller or processor as applicable and link a data-processing addendum. However, Vercel's current canonical Data Processing Addendumexpressly limits its processor terms to Pro and Enterprise customers. This deployment uses the Hobby plan. The public official documents therefore do not establish that the current DPA applies to this deployment, and this notice does not claim that it does.

Vercel states that information may be processed in the United States and other jurisdictions and that, where required, it uses Standard Contractual Clauses or other appropriate mechanisms. Its Privacy Notice also states participation in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The exact subprocessors and transfer mechanism applicable to this Hobby deployment remain unverified; a service-wide provider list is not treated as proof that a named company processes requests for this site.

Retention

Vercel documents a 12-hour customer-visible retention window for base Observability events on Hobby and a one-hour window for runtime logs. This static site has no serverless function runtime. Those dashboard windows do not establish deletion from every Vercel system. Vercel's Privacy Notice gives no fixed period for its internal operational data; it states that information is kept for the minimum period necessary for legal, contractual and legitimate purposes and is deleted or anonymized when there is no ongoing legitimate business need, with secure retention where deletion is not possible, such as backups.

Your rights

Subject to the statutory conditions, you have the right of access under Art. 15 GDPR, rectification under Art. 16, erasure under Art. 17, restriction under Art. 18, data portability under Art. 20 and objection under Art. 21. Because this site's request processing relies on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. Contact the controller at the email address above.
